Coral red tubular flower clusters attract hummingbirds and other pollinators from late spring through fall. Bright red fruits in September are relished by migrating songbirds. 

Native to: Southern New England down through the southern USA. Non-native to Maine

Growing conditions: Sun to part shade, average soil.

Natural habitat: Deciduous woodland edges and thickets in moderately moist soils.

Grows up to: A twining vine best trained up a lattice or wire over a doorway, gate or fence.  

Blooms: Late spring to fall.
