A tall garden plant that blooms repeatedly from midsummer to fall. It thrives in dry, sandy, well-draining soils, but tolerates clay soils as well. Features small, two-lipped, purplish blue flowers and attractive foliage. Does well in partial shade.
Native to: United States from New York to Wisconsin and south from Florida to Texas. Non-native to Maine

Natural habitat: Open woods, clearings, on slopes and along streams.
