A rhizomatous, spreading, upright to mat-forming perennial that is considered by some to be an aggressive weed. Foliage, however, looks delicate and ferny. Bloom time is long and flowers attract beneficial insects.

Growing conditions: Sun, dry to medium, well-drained soil
Natural habitat: Sunny meadow type habitats, in open woods and in disturbed sites.

Blooms: Late spring to summer
These seeds do not need a winter cold period to germinate. Sow outdoors in pots from November through April. A great species for beginner seed sowers.
