Winterberry holly (Ilex verticillata) Plants

Winterberry holly (Ilex verticillata) Plants

A multi-stemmed shrub of wet soils that makes a stunning fall/winter landscape plant for wet to average soils. In early summer, tiny white flowers, only visible up close, are covered with equally tiny pollinating insects. Small, dark green leaves grace the rounded shrub that blends into the background until fall, when the berries ripen on the female plants in various shades of red. When the leaves drop, the berry-covered bushes stand out strongly, and attract birds for a late fall or winter feast.
