This dainty little wildflower is one of our most charming. In spring and early summer, the abundant, tiny, light blue flowers carpet the ground brightening up a meadow, shady lawn, or woodland. The flowers grow out of small clumps and can be tucked between stepping stones, along the edge of a path, in old stumps, or in the space between the grass in thin lawns.
At Wild Seed Project, we hold ethical, sustainable collection of seed as a core principle. The supply for this species is very limited (not to mention, the seeds are teeny tiny!).
This is why we are working to expand our Native Seed Center and establish more seed increase plots. We plan to grow out more plants from wild stock, and in turn sustainably harvest in larger quantities. We welcome you to learn more and support this effort to increase the supply of native seeds for the Northeast.
