A rhizomatous, spreading, upright to mat-forming perennial that is considered by some to be an aggressive weed. Foliage, however, looks delicate and ferny. Bloom time is long and flowers attract beneficial insects.

Native to: Temperate regions of Eurasia and is naturalized in North America. Non-native to Maine.

Growing conditions: Sun, dry to medium, well-drained soil 

Natural habitat: Sunny meadow type habitats, in open woods and in disturbed sites.

Grows up to: 12-18"
