Heal-all is named after its use in traditional medicine to treat several ailments. This mint-family perennial’s ability to spread by roots makes it a wonderful groundcover and useful in lawn replacement. As highlighted in the Wild Seed Project Native Ground Covers for Northeast Landscapes guide it is especially useful for soil stabilization. Heal-all’s clusters of purple-blue flowers can be found loaded with native bees and other pollinators.
