Red osier dogwood (Swida sericea) Plants

Adorned with attractive, maroon red stems, red osier dogwood provide excellent winter interest. The shrub has flat-headed panicles of white flowers that produce creamy white fruits sought after by dozens of bird and mammal species. Red osier dogwood can spread vigorously, so plant with caution in small landscapes. Regular winter pruning may help curb this spread and will encourage growth of new, red stems the following year.
